News briefs: No major injuries after fiery crash in Woodside
(August 10, 2005) A woman escaped with no serious injuries after her car crashed into a grove of redwood trees and caught fire at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, on La Honda Road in Woodside.
The woman lost control of her vehicle as she drove around the corners of the twisty road, said Lt. Ken Jones of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. The car burst into flames after the woman left the vehicle.
Flames enveloped three redwood trees and the road was closed for about five hours while firefighters from the Woodside Fire Protection District dealt with the fire, said Lt. Jones.
The driver was taken to Stanford Hospital with complaints of pain and minor injuries.
