Scout Troop 206 celebrates 50th anniversary

Boy Scout Troop 206 of Menlo Park/Atherton will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, August 27, in Menlo Park.
The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 330 Ravenswood Ave. at Laurel Street.
Presentations, displays, a slide show and other memorabilia will be a part of the celebration. Past members who were very active with the troop plan to attend.
Troop 206 has varied in size from 6 to 106 over the years and has provided many public services, including:
** An annual canned food drive. (Last year more than two tons of food were collected).
** Earthquake relief during the Loma Prieta, including clothing donations and related assistance.
** Feeding the homeless.
The troop has an active outdoor program including hiking, river rafting, bike camping, campouts, climbing and backpacking.
Family, friends and members of the Menlo Park/Atherton community are welcome to attend the event.
