Phillips Brooks' plans for 'visual barrier'
(September 14, 2005) Phillips Brooks School plans to present its proposals this week for a landscaping project on Avy Avenue that would create a visual barrier to separate school activities and upcoming construction from the rest of the neighborhood.
The private school will present two plans for the barrier at the board meeting of the Las Lomitas School District, which leases the campus to Phillips Brooks.
One design will consist of plant life only, and the other will have plants and limited fencing draped with ivy or some type of foliage, said Phillips Brooks representative Joyce Massaro.
The board meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, at the La Entrada library at 2200 Sharon Road in Menlo Park.
Those who attended a neighborhood meeting September 7 agreed the visual barrier should consist of small trees and other plants, said Ms. Massaro. At the meeting, landscape architect Brian Fletcher discussed potential designs with three neighbors who attended.
