'Anything Goes' at TheatreWorks gala
(October 05, 2005) Take your pick. You can be a Grecian goddess, a Chinese emperor, maybe Marie Antoinette.
Fittings are now under way at TheatreWorks' costume shop for lavish outfits from past productions to wear to the Anything Goes fundraiser on Saturday, October 15, at the company's "Scene Shop" at 1110 Hamilton Court in Menlo Park.
Jeffrey Adair and his team at J Floral Art will transform the building into a glamorous setting for a sit-down dinner by McCall Associates, dancing to Dave Martin's Houseparty and a live auction.
Included in the auction are a private dinner party with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein, a trip to New York City with Broadway composer Andrew Lippa, and a walk-on role in a TheatreWorks production.
Local committee members are: Chairman Julie Kaufman, Jennifer DeGolia, and Rosina Lo Sun of Atherton, and Sara Bar-Gadda of Menlo Park.
Individual tickets are $250 to $500; tables are $2,500 to $5,000 (premiere tables for 10 include a private champagne costume-fitting party). To request an invitation, call Sarah Grojean at 463-7152.
