Woodside plans book sale
(October 19, 2005) The Friends of the Woodside Library has a whole shed-full of books to sell off to the public on Saturday, November 5.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the parking lot will be stacked with boxes of hardbacks, paperbacks, video and audiotapes, CDs and DVDs, all for sale at reasonable prices.
Most hardbacks, videos, CDs and DVDs will go for $1, and most paperbacks and audiotapes for 25¢. The exceptions are special collections such as a five-volume set of works by George Bernard Shaw, and a gift package of books about Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lindbergh.
Many Harry Potter books are available in pristine condition, as well a wide selection of striking coffee table books, according to Friends member Susan Flint.
To help shoppers, the books will be divided into areas of interest, ranging from travel to music, and foreign language to fiction.
All proceeds go toward acquiring new materials for the library, and supporting various adult and children's programs.
The Friends will offer complimentary refreshments, and welcomes browsers to come and admire the new landscaping out front.
The library is located at 3140 Woodside Rd., Woodside.
