Atherton police, in collaboration with Menlo Park police, have arrested and jailed three teenagers on charges of burglary of two local schools.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, October 27, Menlo Park police discovered the suspects at Willow Road and Coleman Avenue in a vehicle containing goods apparently stolen from Willow Oaks Elementary School in Menlo Park and Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton.

The man in custody is Cesar Gallardo-Velazquez, 18, of Menlo Park, said the dispatcher at the Atherton Police Department.

One of the minors involved is 17 years old and one is a student at M-A High, the dispatcher said. Atherton police would not disclose further information about the minor suspects.

The items in the vehicle suspected of being stolen include projectors, a camcorder, a computer, cell phones, baseball gear, a coffeemaker, a package of cookies, an earthquake survival kit and prescription medicine, said the dispatcher.
