Handbell choir at history museum workshop December 3
(November 30, 2005) Families are invited to the San Mateo County History Museum on Saturday, December 3, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., for musical entertainment and a workshop on making 19th century Christmas tree ornaments.
At 11 a.m. the San Francisco State University handbell choir will perform holiday music during a one-hour concert in the museum's historic courtroom.
After the concerts, families can make ornaments for their own Christmas tree by stringing popcorn, nuts and berries into garlands, filling cornucopias with sweets, fruits and nuts, and decorating cardboard ornaments with silver and gold glitter.
Cost is $4 for adults, $2 for seniors and children, and free for kids under 5. The San Mateo County History Museum is located at 777 Hamilton St., Redwood City. For information, call 299-0104.
