The Menlo-Atherton High School boys varsity soccer team won its opening match against Palo Alto High School, 1-0, on November 22 at Palo Alto. Following a scoreless first half, freshman David Lopez scored the only goal of the match in the second half, netting a rebounded ball in front of the goal.
