Grants available for county history projects Grants available for county history projects (January 04, 2006)

Ten historical organizations in the county have a chance to win grants of up to $1,000 each to create projects honoring San Mateo County's Sesquicentennial in 2006.

Eligible projects could include developing an exhibit, publication, or lecture series; restoring a historic site or artifact; doing an oral history or research project; or conducting a survey of historic architecture.

The sesquicentennial grants are underwritten by Cypress Lawn of Colma and administered by the county Historical Association.

Grant applications are available from the Historical Association. Deadline for submitting applications is January 16; successful projects will be announced February 1.

For information call 299-0104; or visit the sesquicentennial web site at smc150.org.
