Linfield Drive projects delayed

Plans to build houses on Linfield Drive in Menlo Park have been set back.
The Planning Commission in December refused to act on the proposal to build 56 detached homes at 110 and 175 Linfield Drive until commissioners see the results of a traffic study that considers the impacts of three other projects planned for the same neighborhood.
Commissioners and Linfield neighborhood residents have shown concern that the four projects, which include plans for new homes and office space, will add to traffic woes and overburden schools.
The projects are all proposed for the same neighborhood, but are undergoing separate review processes.
The traffic study is under way, but was scheduled to be reviewed by the City Council after the Linfield project. Commissioners said the traffic study will help give a picture of the cumulative impacts of the proposed projects.
Other plans include the demolition of a 29,000 square-foot office building at 75 Willow Road to make way for 34 homes; converting an office building at 321 Middlefield Road into medical offices; and the construction of an undetermined number of homes at 8 Homewood Place.
Dates have not been set for the traffic study or the Linfield proposal to come before the commission and council.
