Parents whose children will be starting kindergarten at Portola Valley's Ormondale School in the fall are invited to visit the K-3 school on Thursday, January 19.

Parent Visitation Day begins at 8:35 a.m. in the school's multi-use room with Principal Eva Gal giving a short orientation for the parents. Afterward, parents will have the opportunity to visit the four kindergarten classrooms. Parents are asked to not bring children on this day.

Registration forms for kindergarten will be available at the school office. Incoming kindergartners must be 5 years old on or before December 2, 2006, in order to be registered for kindergarten.

Parents are asked to bring verification of their child's birth (birth certificate or passport), immunization records and proof of residency in the district (copy of current property tax statement, deed or current rental/lease agreement).

Selby Lane School's online library wish list

The school's librarian and teaching staff have compiled a variety of fiction and non-fiction books needed for class assignments and learning projects. The idea was conceived by the Selby Education Foundation, according to parent Julia Schwartzman.
