Economic skills seminar for girls
(January 25, 2006) Proving, perhaps, that it's never too early to attend a summit meeting, a teenage girls' "economic power summit" is planned for Saturday, February 4, at Mid Peninsula High School in Menlo Park to help girls ages 14 to 18 understand topics such as saving and investing, credit cards and budgeting.
The day-long conference is being put on by LifeMoxie, a San Francisco-based consulting firm whose stated goal is to help women "make informed choices about life using practical skills, know-how and moxie." The seminar's sponsor is Spiral Muse, a nonprofit group organized "to connect and inspire women as community," according to its Web site.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $25, which includes breakfast, lunch and a post-conference celebration. Scholarships are available.
Mid Peninsula High School is at 1340 Willow Road. For more information, go to lifemoxie.com or call (888) 676-6943.
