A Menlo Park man pleaded guilty on January 25 to fatally shooting an acquaintance outside a child's graduation party in June 2004.

As part of a plea bargain, Jai Lee Shan Fontenot, 24, pleaded guilty in a San Mateo County courtroom to voluntary manslaughter in return for a six-year prison sentence, according to prosecutor Al Giannini.

Mr. Fortenot shot Menlo Park resident Travis Quesada, 21, multiple times outside a Hill Avenue home in Menlo Park's Belle Haven neighborhood as the victim tried to leave the party, according to the county District Attorney's Office. -- Bay City News service
