New hearing date for coach accused of molestation New hearing date for coach accused of molestation (February 01, 2006)

A preliminary hearing has been reset to Friday, March 3, for Guy Hayman, the girls' varsity basketball coach at Woodside High School who was fired from his job after his arrest January 11 on charges of sexual molestation of a 14-year-old girl.

The hearing is set to start at 9 a.m. in the courtroom of Superior Court Judge Carl W. Holm, who will decide whether the prosecutor has evidence to support a reasonable suspicion that a crime occurred and Mr. Hayman was involved.

Mr. Hayman, who is out on bail, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, including three felony counts. Among the crimes he is accused of are inappropriately touching and fondling the girl, and masturbating in front of her.

Woodside Principal Linda Common said she was told by the Redwood City police that the charges involve one girl in Mr. Hayman's personal life and do not involve Woodside High students.
