Skate park wins state design award

The skate park in the Menlo Park Civic Center has won the award of excellence for facility design from the California Park and Recreation Society, it was announced this week by the Menlo Park Community Services Department.

The award will be presented at the California and Pacific Southwest Recreation and Park Training Conference March 16-18 in Ontario.
New paper covers East Palo Alto

A nonprofit community newspapers, covering East Palo Alto and the Menlo Park neighborhood of Belle Haven, hit the stands January 27. About 8,000 copies were distributed, the paper said.

Published by the nonprofit East Palo Center for Community Media, the paper is free and has stories in both English and Spanish.
