The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office new chief inspector, John Warren, was sworn in at a ceremony this morning in Redwood City.

Warren has spent 29 years in law enforcement with the Daly City Police Department, where he worked as a gang task force officer and detective before being promoted to sergeant, lieutenant and then captain in 1998, according to the district attorney’s office.

Warren attended Notre Dame de Namur University and California State University and graduated from the FBI National Academy Training School.

In addition, Deputy District Attorney Karen Guidotti, who has been a prosecutor for 23 years and who has been with the district attorney’s office since 2003, was promoted to assistant district attorney for San Mateo County.

Guidotti is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and received her law degree from the University of Santa Clara Law School.
