Anyone who lives or works near the streets that feed cars onto the Dumbarton Bridge is probably painfully aware of the traffic that frequently jams the area.

For those who’d like to do more than just complain, there’s a meeting this Thursday to get citizen input on long-term traffic solutions. The first Menlo Park meeting of the “Dumbarton Dialogue Project” is scheduled for Dec. 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Onetta Harris Community Center at 100 Terminal Ave.

The meeting will focus on “managing the traffic impacts” in areas adjacent to Dumbarton Bridge and along U.S. 101, according to a press release issued by the East Palo Alto-based project.

The project is intended to compliment efforts by the City/County Association of Governments <0x2014> San Mateo County’s official traffic-congestion management agency <0x2014> to develop a 20-year traffic plan along the Peninsula, according to the release. The project seeks to involve residents of six Peninsula cities, including Menlo Park and Atherton.

The project is not associated with scoping sessions and meetings related to the planned Dumbarton Rail project to add a train line to the East Bay along the Dubarton rail spur.
