    The role local residents are playing in the presidential primaries

     

    Local residents are doing a lot more than observing the presidential race. They are playing a role -- big and small -- in campaigning for their choices, both in the Republican and Democratic primaries.

    Although election day is Feb. 5, many residents -- perhaps as much as half -- will cast ballots by mail before that date.
