Woodside will celebrate its rural heritage on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Runnymede Sculpture Farm with a Community Barn Dance, sponsored on alternate years by the Woodside Recreation Committee.

Activities for children and the young at heart include two merry-go-rounds (one with live ponies), hay wagon rides, fire engine rides, a petting zoo, other animal activities, as well as western-themed games and face painting.

Guided tours of the sculpture garden at Runnymede will be offered along with art and environmental exhibits by local artists and groups.

Admission covers a barbecue dinner, and dancing in the Runnymede barn, with country and western, and contemporary music. Surprise entertainment is also promised.

More than 450 people attended the previous events, and tickets will be limited.

Purchase tickets, $20 for children and $35 for adults or $95 for a family of up to five people, by Sept. 18 with a form found at the Woodside Recreation Committee’s Web site, or at Town Hall, 2955 Woodside Road.
