Atherton council meeting cancelled

A special Atherton City Council meeting set for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, has been cancelled, said City Manager Jerry Gruber.

The special meeting was scheduled to tackle several unheard items left over from the Nov. 18 meeting agenda, including a staff recommendation to end the town's road impact fee. Now those items will be added to the agenda of the next regular meeting, set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, according to Mr. Gruber.

The special meeting, along with a closed session meeting, was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts, he said in an e-mail to The Almanac.

Mr. Gibboney--I read your editorial twice and am still confused --do you support Atherton's attempt to maintain it's roads with a"users" fee to the constuction industry that damages them -- or do you feel it is foolish for the town to risk a law suit from them??
For whatever it is worth, I don't think the town should have to pay to repair roads damaged by a handful of developers speculating their money on Atherton's real estate. It should be their cost of business--not the towns or the residents public money
I could not figure out how to comment on your editorial "Another U-Turn in Atherton" so I am commenting here.
