Woodside resident and trial attorney Theodore C. Zayner has been appointed as a judge on the Superior Court of Santa Clara County, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced today (Dec. 29).
Mr. Zayner, 53, has practiced law since 1983 and is currently with the Campbell firm of Adleson, Hess & Kelly.
He has a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Superior Court appointments are for six years, after which a judge's name goes on the ballot for an up-or-down vote on another six-year term. The stating salary is $178,789.
Mr. Zayner already serves as a temporary judge and judicial arbitrator in Santa Clara County, and as an arbitrator and mediator for superior courts in San Mateo and Merced counties, according to his online bio at Adleson, Hess.
