Menlo Park sponsors new children's chorus

Parents can sign their kids up for a new children's chorus, one of the many programs offered through Menlo Park's community services department.

The chorus will meet every Wednesday at 4 p.m. for 45 minutes, beginning Jan. 6, though children can join at any time over the next several months.

Anyone in grades 1 through 6 is welcome, and special consideration will be given to younger children who are able to sit relatively still for long periods of time, according to April McNeely, who will direct the chorus.

No audition is required, and kids do not have to be able to read music to join, Ms. McNeely said.

The program is scheduled to culminate in an April performance at the Menlo-Atherton High School performing arts center.

To enroll in the class, or in any of the recreation classes the city offers, click here or call the community services department at 330-2200. For more information on the chorus, call Ms. McNeely at (408) 314-7589.
