Menlo Park sponsors new children's chorus


Parents can sign their kids up for a new children's chorus, one of the many programs offered through Menlo Park's community services department.

The chorus will meet every Wednesday at 4 p.m. for 45 minutes, beginning Jan. 6, though children can join at any time over the next several months.

Anyone in grades 1 through 6 is welcome, and special consideration will be given to younger children who are able to sit relatively still for long periods of time, according to April McNeely, who will direct the chorus.

No audition is required, and kids do not have to be able to read music to join, Ms. McNeely said.

The program is scheduled to culminate in an April performance at the Menlo-Atherton High School performing arts center.
