Two men standing in a their driveway were shot in a drive-by shooting in East Palo Alto Thursday night, according to police.

Officers went to the 2400 block of Illinois Avenue at about 8:55 p.m. after the Police Department's Shotspotter system notified them of gunshots in the area.

Arriving officers found a 26-year-old man and 31-year-old man, both East Palo Alto residents, lying in the driveway of their home. Both men had been shot multiple times in the legs.

The victims were taken to a hospital where they were reported to be in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation indicates the men had been standing in their driveway when a dark-colored midsize vehicle drove by and someone fired several shots from out of one of the car's windows, according to police.

No arrests were made and suspect information was not available.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call East Palo Alto police Detective Roderick Tuason at (650) 853-7244 or the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (650) 853-8477.
