Caltrain service back on time

By Bay City News Service

Caltrain was operating on time this afternoon after a stalled train caused a ripple of delays to several other trains this morning, including the Freedom Train in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

North- and southbound trains were delayed by up to 24 minutes, Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew said. The delays lasted until about noon.

The Freedom Train, scheduled to arrive in San Francisco at 10:55 a.m., was about five to 10 minutes behind schedule.

Trains single-tracked around the stalled train until it was removed from the tracks, Bartholomew said.
