Today: Portola Valley walk/meet on Spring Down open space

Anyone interested in the eventual use of the 6 acres of land designated as open space near Portola Valley Town Center might want to attend a meeting today (Feb. 11) at 4 p.m. at Town Center at 765 Portola Road.

At issue is the definition of open space. Some residents have spoken in support of using part of the Spring Down property as a community garden, an idea opposed by residents who look askance at proposals that would intrude on the character of land preserved for its natural beauty.

An ad hoc committee charged with recommending will take a walk in the open space and then reconvene in the Historic Schoolhouse for more discussion.
