Saturday: 'Girls Lead Now' in Menlo Park


Girls Lead Now is hosting its annual "Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken" conference on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Mid-Peninsula High School, 1340 Willow Road in Menlo Park.

The conference for girls ages 14-18 begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. The event, now in its sixth year, will feature workshops focused on life skills, such as college preparation, getting a first job, health and nutrition, budgeting and more, according to a Girls Lead Now spokesperson Andrea Nelson.

Keynote speaker will be Helen Grieco, founder of the She Institute. For more than 25 years, Ms. Grieco has worked as executive director for the National Organization for Women in California.

Cost for the event is $15 per person and includes breakfast, lunch, a Girls Lead Now T-shirt, and a teen clothing swap. Registration is required.
