Carol Goodstein, owner of Spring Down Equestrian Center in Portola Valley, will present a horse safety clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Spring Down Equestrian Center, 725 Portola Road.

Some of the topics to be covered, according to clinic manager Diane Allison, are: how a horse relates to its handler/rider, how to groom and tack up, how to longe, how to stop a run-away horse, what to do if your horse will not go forward, and safety equipment.

The cost is $85 and pre-registration is required. For more information, contact office manager Jennifer Dekker or clinic manager Diane Allison by calling 851-1114, sending an e-mail to sdecenter@aol.com or going online to www.springdown.com.
