Eaton earns MPSF Player of the Week honors

M-A grad scored 10 goals in four games, all wins, last week

Stanford senior Kelly Eaton, a Menlo-Atherton High grad, was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo Player of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Eaton earned the honor after scoring 10 goals over Stanford's four wins last weekend.

The honor is the second in Eaton's career, and the second earned by a Stanford player this season. Sacred Heart Prep grad Pallavi Menon took home the conference's weekly nod back on Feb. 15.

Eaton opened up the weekend with a goal in No. 2 Stanford's 11-2 win at home over No. 14 San Diego State. She increased her scoring output over each of the next three games, scoring twice in Saturday's 10-4 win over No. 13 UC Irvine, three times Sunday morning in a 17-1 win against CS Bakersfield, and capping things off with a four-goal effort in Sunday afternoon's 11-1 triumph over No. 15 UC Davis.

The scoring burst over the four wins increased Eaton's goal total on the year to 30, tying her with sophomore Melissa Seidemann for the team lead.

No. 2 Stanford returns to action on March 21, hosting Arizona State at Avery Aquatic Center.
