Today: Menlo library children's room reopens

Good news for kids and parents: The newly renovated children's section of the Menlo Park Library will reopen on Friday, March 19, according to Children's Librarian Michelle Barrese.

It will be a "soft opening" -- no hoopla or special activities. Those things are on the agenda for Saturday, March 27, when Boswick the Clown, Raul the Balloon Artist, and Miss Angela the storyteller will be around from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate the much-anticipated reopening.

The March 27 celebration will also include a scavenger hunt designed to give kids a chance to get acquainted with their new room while having lots of fun, says Jane Wyman of the Menlo Park Library Foundation. Ms. Wyman co-chaired the foundation's effort to raise the $500,000 to renovate the children's room of the library.

The library is at 800 Alma St. in Menlo Park. Call 330-2500 for more information.
