Community 'Rebuilding Day' set for April 24

Rebuilding Together Peninsula, the organization that mobilizes thousands of volunteers each year to repair community facilities and the homes of low-income people, will hold its annual Rebuilding Day on Saturday, April 24.

Some 3,500 volunteers from companies and community organizations will work on 80 projects in 14 cities on the Peninsula, including four projects in Menlo Park, said Kate Comfort Harr, development director for Rebuilding Together Peninsula.

Volunteers will use green practices, such as reducing waste, and help homeowners reduce energy by insulating water heaters and weather-stripping windows and doors, she said in a statement.
