Kelly Miller wins fencing medal

 

Kelly Miller, a 17-year-old resident of Woodside, recently competed in the Junior Olympic Fencing Championships held in Memphis, Tennessee. Kelly's team, First Place Fencing Club of San Carlos, won a silver medal in the Junior Team Women's Sabre event, competing against the Manhattan Fencing Club of New York City. The final score was 45-42.

Kelly also competed in the individual Junior Women's Sabre event, finishing 16th out of 111 competitors. She is currently ranked 38th in the nation, according to a press release from the First Place Fencing Club.
