Obituary: Martha Brown, hairdresser

Martha Brown, a 30-year resident of Menlo Park, died March 23 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer, family members said. She was 74.

Ms. Brown was a hairdresser and worked in the family business, the William Brown Salon, in San Mateo.

She is survived by her husband, William, and two children, Maria and Ryan Brown.

Family friend Sam Yelland called Ms. Brown "a punk rocker. She rocked and we all loved her very much," he said.
