Project Read tutor training begins April 20

 

Registration is under way for Project Read-Menlo Park's spring training sessions for volunteer tutors. Training begins Tuesday, April 20, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Menlo Park Library at 800 Alma St. in the Civic Center.

The training continues from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24. The final session, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, is a follow-up meeting for tutors who are currently meeting with adult students.

Additional training workshops and meetings are scheduled throughout the year. Videotaped and DVD training and resource materials are available to those who cannot attend the sessions.

Project Read offers free one-on-one tutoring to adults with limited or no English reading and writing skills.
