Portola Valley boy missing

Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and other regional law enforcement agencies are on the lookout for Benjamin Duncan Chilton, a 12-year-old Portola Valley boy with blond hair and blue eyes, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing 135 pounds.

Ben's parents discovered that he wasn't at home yesterday (Thursday) morning when they went to wake him up for school, according to a Sheriff's Office statement. His parents believe that he left home during the night with his 15-year-old girlfriend, Emily Schubert of Palo Alto.

The two were reportedly headed to the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco to hang out, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office.

Their names have been entered in a nationwide database, and deputies are asking anyone with information to call any law enforcement agency.
