Three men carjack woman at gas station

Police arrested three men suspected of carjacking a woman at a gas station in Redwood City on Tuesday night (April 20).

Officers were called to a 76 gas station at 234 El Camino Real at about 8:30 p.m.

A woman there told investigators she had parked her car at the gas station when three men approached her. One diverted her attention while another got into her car. When she tried to stop him, the third threatened to kill her, she told police.

The men drove off in the victim's car and she called 911.

Responding officers searched the area and spotted the victim's car in the 900 block of Clinton Street. Four people inside the car were taken into custody, as was a fifth who was identified later by investigators.

Police eventually arrested three men: 20-year-old Carlos Conrriquez; 20-year-old Eric Acevedo; and 18-year-old Abraham Valdivias, all Redwood City residents.

All three were arrested on suspicion of carjacking, street gang involvement, and conspiracy. They were booked into San Mateo County jail.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Redwood City police at (650) 780-7100.
