People can turn in firearms at an event in Menlo Park Saturday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mt. Olive AOH Church of God.
The event is sponsored by the Crime Prevention Narcotics & Drugs Education Center, with cooperation from the Menlo Park police department. The church is located at 605 Hamilton Avenue in the Belle Haven neighborhood.
People will receive a $50 gift card to a local business in exchange for each gun, up to three guns, according to a press release.
All firearms should be unloaded and stored in a bag, in the trunk or rear area of the vehicle. People walking to the event should keep firearms in a gym bag.
