Firefighters control Menlo Park house fire

Firefighters have controlled a single-story Menlo Park house fire on the corner of Menlo Oaks Drive and Newbridge Street, Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman told The Almanac at 4:35 p.m. today (Friday).

The fire is in the attic space under a shallow pitched roof, Mr. Schapelhouman said. It's a pretty small house that is partially under construction, he added.

There were unconfirmed reports of someone bailing out of a window, he said.
