Thursday: Willows traffic meeting

Willows residents may be interested in attending a meeting on a traffic study of the neighborhood sponsored by the city on Thursday, June 3.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the ballroom of the Burgess Recreation Center, in the Civic Center complex between Laurel and Alma streets.

This is the second of three community meetings as part of the study. City staff expects to make a recommendation to the City Council on possible measures to change traffic patterns in the neighborhood.

A similar study in the early 1990s resulted in the installation and subsequent removal of a variety of traffic furniture, with the city drawing up plans to block off some streets leading into East Palo Alto, at the request of a group of residents.
