July 1 deadline to apply for Menlo commissions


Menlo Park residents interested in serving on any of several city commissions have until July 1 to apply.

Seats are available on the housing, library, transportation, environmental quality, and parks and recreation commissions. Commissions are made up of volunteers, and meet once per month. They make recommendations to city staff and the City Council on various policy issues, and sometimes serve as unofficial liaisons between residents and the city.

The City Council selects commission members. While people can apply for multiple commissions, the city asks that people rank the commissions in order of their preference.
