Former Woodside resident killed in Hillsborough

The man who was shot and killed in Hillsborough on Tuesday (June 15) has been identified by Hillsborough police as Christopher Calvache, formerly of Woodside.

Mr. Calvache, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene and was shot twice, once in the head and once in the buttocks, Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wasgstaffe said in an interview. The gun used was the gun found at the scene, Mr. Wagstaffe said.

Hillsborough police received a 911 call reporting the shooting just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Bradley Kleiman, 30, was taken into custody following the incident and is in county jail on a no-bail status, Mr. Wagstaffe said.

Mr. Calvache, a longtime friend of Mr. Kleiman, was visiting him at Mr. Kleiman's home at the time of the incident, police said.

Mr. Calvache grew up in Woodside but was living in San Francisco, police said. He had a Woodside post office box number, according to the San Mateo County Coroner's Office.

"He would bounce around a lot," Mr. Wagstaffe said. "He just used that (mailbox) as a spot where he would pick up his mail."

Hillsborough murder suspect declares innocence.

How old was the victim?.......Has our Coroner Mr. Fourcault made a report? Rather more than a little story, I would say.
More space given for a vigil.
Do ALMANAC reporters have more to add? I do believe there is a bit of crime history in the 60's and on in Hillsborough...
Quite a place for us that are really from the Bay Area and remember.

Murder seems to play little importance compared to trees on the Peninsula.
What has transpired since the murder?
WHAT coroner did the autopsy?
It is a criminal act..........VERY weird.
