Celebration of Bill Lane's life

 

Friends and relatives of former Sunset publisher and philanthropist Bill Lane will celebrate his life at a memorial service set for noon Friday, Oct. 1, at the Stanford Memorial Church. Mr. Lane died July 31. He was 90.

A reception will follow at the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center on the campus, according to a statement from Mr. Lane's office.

Relatives are asking that gifts in Mr. Lane's memory be directed to the Peninsula Open Space Trust, the California State Parks Foundation, the Yosemite Conservancy, and/or the Portola Valley Open Space Acquisition Fund.
