Rudolph's five goals lead Stanford men to water polo victory

Field hockey, cross country teams also victorious

Sacred Heart Prep grad Paul Rudolph scored a game-high five goals and junior Peter Sefton recorded three goals as the Stanford men's water polo team opened its season with a 15-3 victory over Pomona-Pitzer in the UC Irvine Invitational on Saturday.

Menlo School grad Alex Avery, Jacob Smith and Sage Wright each added two goals as the third-ranked Cardinal took a 6-0 halftime lead.

Stanford meets Redlands in Irvine on Sunday.

Menlo grad Mark Hudnall scored a goal for the Sagehorns.
