Police in the Bay Area have arrested 167 drivers since Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the California Highway Patrol, up slightly since 2009.

Statewide since Friday, 990 drivers have been arrested on DUI charges and eight people have died on roadways, according to the CHP.

Police and CHP officers in San Francisco have made 102 DUI arrests during the campaign.

On the way to the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, we saw dozens of drunk drivers weaving all over the roads, going through lights and generally being obnoxious. We just stayed overnight and drove in this AM
