Tonight: pros and cons on state ballot measures


This announcement is from the South San Mateo County League of Women Voters.

Voters in California will decide whether nine state ballot propositions pass or fail in the Nov. 2 election. The propositions were placed on the ballot by the state Legislature or through the public initiative process.

Ballot propositions are not always straightforward. Wouldn't it be nice if someone could explain each proposition in a clear and nonpartisan manner?

You're in luck. The South San Mateo County League of Women Voters plans to give such a presentation at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, in the downtown meeting room of the Menlo Park Library, 800 Alma St. at Ravenswood Avenue.

The free presentation is open to the public.

Straightforward? Unbiased? The League of Women Voters? You must be joking. The have their own agendas, and just like everybody else, they jump on plenty of bandwagons. It's fine to let the community know about the meeting, but please don't pretend or profess that it will be done in a "clear and nonpartisan manner".

The League of Women voters have a decisive bias to the left. You need to read the ballot measures, the analyses, and the arguments pro and con. Don't be spoon fe by a bunch of liberal women. DO THE RESEARCH THEN VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE.
