Tonight: Cafe Scientifique on networks social and otherwise

There are networks other than social -- for transportation, electricity, health care and recycling, for example. Electrical engineering and computer science Professor Balaji Prabhakar of Stanford University will discuss them at the November Cafe Scientifique at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10.

The talk, "It Pays to Do the Right Thing," takes place at the headquarters of SRI International at Middlefield Road and Ringwood Avenue in Menlo Park.

Mr. Prabhakar's academic focus is on human behavior and efficiency within networks and the role technology might play in improving efficiency, such as in reducing roadway traffic congestion.
