Saturday: Free flu shots in Woodside

Free flu shots will be available from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 20, at the main fire station of the Woodside Fire Protection District at 3111 Woodside Road in Woodside. Appointments are not necessary.

Flu shots are recommended for people 60 or older and anyone with a long term health concern, including diseases affecting the heart, lungs and kidneys and the immune system. They're also useful to avoid catching the flu. Children six months or older can be vaccinated.

For more information on the topic of influenza and vaccinations, call the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at 800-232-4636. For information on the vaccination clinic in Woodside, call 851-1594.
