Boys' soccer: Sacred Heart Prep wins 5-0

 

The Sacred Heart Prep boys' soccer team continued its explosive early season with a 5-0 non-league victory over host Riordan on Wednesday in San Francisco.

After two matches, the Gators (2-0) are averaging five goals per game.

Alec Mishra scored once and assisted on two other goals to lead a balanced attack. Freshman Isaac Polkinhorne added one goal and one assist, with his goal being assisted by his brother, goalie Max Polkinhorne. Another brother duo, Will and Alec Mishra, accounted for the Gators' fourth goal.

In Atherton, Menlo School opened its season with a 3-1 non-league loss to visiting Los Altos on Wednesday. Ryan Karle scored the lone goal for the Knights off an assist from Sam Parker, who ran in the CIF State Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
