The Sacred Heart Prep boys' soccer team finished off a perfect (5-0) nonleague season with a 3-1 victory over host San Mateo on Friday.
Jack Odell, Alec Mishra and freshman Isaac Polkinhorne provided the goals for the Gators, who are now off until the West Bay Athletic League season begins in January. Mishra also provided two assists.
Sacred Heart Prep has outscored the opposition, 23-3, this season.
Gunn saw its possible championship hopes disappear in a 3-2 loss to Mountain View in the semifinals of the Palo Alto Winter Classic on Friday.
The Titans (2-1-1) grabbed a 1-0 halftime lead on a goal by Anna von Clemm (assisted by Lisa Jackson), but the Spartans roared back with three second-half goals. Sarah Robinson added a second goal for Gunn, which will play Priory for third place at noon on the Paly football field on Saturday.
Tavi Crum, Emily Andrew and Kirsten Belinsky scored for Mountain View.
Hoping to play for a title after a big win over Palo Alto on Thursday, the Priory saw those hopes shot down in a 4-3 penalty-kick loss to Carlmont in the other semifinal on Friday night.
The Panthers (2-1-1) got a goal from Mariana Galvan (assist by Eugenia Jernick) in the second half, but the Scots also scored as the match ended in a deadlock at regulation
Meanwhile, Palo Alto wrapped up a disappointing effort in its own tournament after suffering a second straight shutout, a 1-0 loss to Los Altos, in the consolation semifinals on Friday. The Vikings (2-3) had lost to Priory on Thursday, 2-0.
In another consolation match, Menlo (1-1-3) finally got its first victory of the season in a 3-0 triumph over Castilleja (3-3). Jaye Boissiere, Alexandra Douglas and Kelly Cavan (assist Maya Norman) tallied for the Knights.
