Prep roundup: Coach holds holiday hoop camps

 

First-year Menlo-Atherton boys' basketball coach Senque Carey will be holding a series of camps over the holidays, the first running Friday and Saturday at the M-A gym. Friday runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. while the Saturday camp is from 10 a.m. until noon.

Camps also will be held Dec. 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to noon and again on Dec. 23-24 from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information, go to thebasketballexperience.com.

Priory Hoops Academy

Woodside Priory will be holding the Future Stars Hoops Academy from Dec. 20 to Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school in Portola Valley. The camp features fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing and defense. To register, call 485-1461 or send an e-mail to register@FutureStarsHoop.com.

Menlo School girls' volleyball coach Chris Crader will not return to the program next season after his one-year contract was not renewed. The Knights, with three freshmen starters, went 21-16 this season and reached the CCS Division IV quarterfinals before being eliminated by eventual CCS and NorCal champ Sacred Heart Prep.
