Six candidates will be interviewed by the Atherton City Council on Wednesday morning, Jan. 26, for positions on a citizens' committee to help choose the town's next city attorney. The meeting begins at 9 a.m.
Residents Scott Barnum, Vivian Kral, former council member Christopher Cobey, Elizabeth Hammack, fire board member Peter Carpenter, and Lynne S. Coonan are applying to serve on the committee.
Ten law firms, including current town attorney Wynne Furth's Menlo Park firm, Burke William & Sorenson, have submitted proposals for the city attorney's job. Ms. Furth is on a short-term contract after her former firm went out of business last year.
The council will also discuss and develop a process for the committee to do its work.
Go to staff reports for more information, including the list of law firms applying for the job.
